Shut In is a 2016 thriller film directed by Farren Blackburn, written by Christina Hodson and starring Naomi Watts, Oliver Platt, Charlie Heaton, Jacob Tremblay, David Cubitt, and Clémentine Poidatz.
The film was released in the United States on November 11, 2016 and on November 16, 2016 in France, by EuropaCorp.
Following a recent accident that took the life of her husband and left her son paralyzed, a psychologist (Naomi Watts) finds herself isolated in her own home caring for her child. Cut off from the outside world during a storm, she starts to believe someone is inside her house trying to harm them.
On November 5, 2014, it was announced that EuropaCorp had set Farren Blackburn to direct a psychological thriller based on the 2012 Black List script, Shut In by Christina Hodson. EuropaCorp would finance, distribute worldwide and co-produce the film with Lava Bear Films. Naomi Watts was set to play the lead role. On March 18, 2015, Oliver Platt, Charlie Heaton, David Cubitt, Jacob Tremblay, and Clementine Poidatz were added to the cast of the film.
Filming began in mid-March 2015 in Canada, as actress Watts was spotted on March 15 during filming in Sutton, Quebec. Filming took place in Eastern Townships of Quebec before the production moved to Vancouver, British Columbia.
